About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior WordPress & WooCommerce Developer to join our growing digital team. This is a senior-level role responsible for building, optimising and maintaining high-performance websites that drive sales across multiple brands within our group.

This is not a basic website maintenance position. You will play a critical role in developing scalable, conversion-focused WordPress and WooCommerce platforms, working closely with our Marketing Manager, CRO Strategist and Web Designer to turn strategy and design into technically robust, revenue-generating websites.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain custom WordPress & WooCommerce websites
• Build and modify custom plugins and bespoke functionalities
• Implement advanced WooCommerce customisations (pricing logic, checkout flows, integrations)
• Integrate APIs with CRMs, payment gateways, logistics and marketing platforms
• Optimise website performance, speed and Core Web Vitals
• Troubleshoot, resolve bugs and ensure site stability
• Execute CRO-driven structural improvements and testing implementations
• Implement security best practices and site hardening
• Manage multiple websites and ensure consistent performance standards
• Collaborate with designers and strategists to deliver high-converting page builds
• Maintain staging, deployment and version control workflows
• Document technical processes and solutions

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in WordPress & WooCommerce development
• Advanced proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Strong custom plugin and theme development expertise
• Experience integrating APIs and third-party platforms
• Solid experience in performance optimisation for eCommerce sites
• Proven ability in debugging and resolving complex technical issues
• Experience managing multiple websites in production environments
• Git version control and modern development workflows
• Strong understanding of security and scalability best practices

Highly Regarded

• Experience with CRO frameworks and A/B testing tools
• GA4, GTM and event tracking implementation
• Multi-currency and international eCommerce experience
• Server-level performance optimisation knowledge
• Familiarity with CRM integrations (HubSpot or similar)
