Position Summary
As our Web Designer & Front-End Implementation Specialist, you will take approved designs and page plans, implement them into our CMS and e-commerce platforms, populate and optimize content, ensure visual consistency and performance, and assist in ongoing updates and maintenance. You will work closely across our design, development, project management and analytics teams to deliver client websites and modules that meet our standards for design, responsiveness, accessibility and SEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate approved page templates, layouts and design assets into live responsive web pages, maintaining brand integrity and design fidelity.
- Implement page builds in CMS platforms (e.g., Shopify, Umbraco or similar) including homepage, service pages, provider profiles, landing pages, blog/news posts and e-commerce product/collection pages.
- Populate content: upload images, text, links, documents; configure menus/navigation; ensure clean layout and usability on desktop and mobile.
- Apply on-page SEO fundamentals during implementation: headings, image alt-text, internal linking, meta tags (as directed).
- Troubleshoot front-end layout issues, browser/device incompatibilities, and refine page rendering for performance and usability.
- Assist with site launches and post-launch updates: link checks, QA of flows, content edits, layout tweaks.
- Support ongoing maintenance: regular page/content updates, minor layout enhancements, responsive fixes, accessibility checks.
- Collaborate with project managers, developers and analysts—track tasks in PM tool, update status, log issues and escalate as needed.
- Maintain documentation of page structures, templates, styling decisions and update logs for future reference.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in web design, digital media, graphic design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2 years of experience designing and implementing web pages/front-end in a production environment.
- Strong proficiency in HTML and CSS; experience with responsive design frameworks and mobile-first layouts.
- Hands-on experience with one or more CMS platforms (Shopify required; experience in Umbraco, WordPress or similar a plus).
- Good understanding of visual layout, typography, spacing, imagery and user-friendly UI across devices.
- Familiarity with basic on-page SEO best practices and ability to apply them during page builds.
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to manage a high volume of page updates accurately and meet deadlines.
- Effective communicator, self-motivated, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects in flight.
Salary Range & Compensation
- Salary Range: $60,000 annually (depending on experience, skills and proven performance)
